AIPIA & AWA Smart Packaging World Congress 2025
Leading the sponsors list is Identiv with a global reach and track record in RFID-based IoT solutions to create digital identities for physical objects. It has worked in the Smart Packaging sector for the last 15 years and it is playing a leading role in Smart Packaging as a key enabler to meet the requirements of DPPs. Klaus Simonmeyer, VP of strategic accounts EMEA will be offering insights on this during the Congress
Takuya Oniki and Tomoaki Aso from another major sponsor, Toppan, will dive into Unlocking the Power of Connected Retail―Innovative Integration of NFC Tags into Packaging. While Edward Ros business unit sales director container systems for SCHÄFER Werke will discuss Smart IBC Containers: Smart Monitoring & IoT Integration for a Transparent Supply Chain in his session.
Other key sponsors such as ETI Converting (smart labelling and printing), Beontag (RFID and IoT enablers), Checkpoint (Cyber Security solutions) and Inexto (Track, Trace and Authentication solutions) will all address the key themes identified by AIPIA as areas of importance: Connected Brand Packaging, Sustainable Smart Packaging and Powering Supply Chains & Data Management. Other speakers or panellists already confirmed include Nathan Anderson of Scantrust, Mike McCamon of NFC Forum, Peter Jackson of Avery Dennison and Steve Stadler of AmbAI.
As well as covering the latest technologies the Congress will feature a new and exciting launch of the Interactive Brand Packaging Network (IBPN), a pioneering new initiative to establish packaging as a recognised media and consumer engagement channel. This is directly aimed at Brands and Retailers, not as a sales pitch, but as an open portal offering information and networking to show how they can elevate packaging from purely a product container into a strategic media asset with high ROI potential. A Keynote Speaker is Patrick Collister former executive creative director of Ogilvy & Mather.
And, of course, the AIPIA & AWA World Congress would not be the same without the Brand Challenge, which this year will feature a global food enhancer. As yet the Challenge itself and the areas of interest from this food giant are under wraps. But more details will come soon.
The Congress is the largest and most comprehensive event for the Smart Packaging sector. Not only will delegates learn about the best route to create Digital Product Passports but also gain valuable insights into the top Brand priority of personalized consumer experiences using Smart Packaging. Also in the spotlight are E-commerce and retail impact and how to measure and maximise that impact, as well as future-proofing Smart Packaging for next-generation consumers. Finally there will be a dedicated session, hosted by Emerald Technology Ventures discussing the role of open innovation and venture capital in Smart Packaging.
