AWA Annual Release Liner Industry Leadership Award 2026 Honors Jurgen Van der Donck

AWA honors Jurgen Van der Donck with its 2026 Release Liner Industry Leadership Award, recognizing his three decades of innovation and industry leadership at Mondi.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, AWA Alexander Watson Associates is pleased to announce that Jurgen Van der Donck, Sales and Business Development Director, Functional Paper and Films at Mondi, has been named the recipient of the 2026 AWA Annual Release Liner Industry Leadership Award. The award was presented during the AWA Global Release Liner Summit 2026 dinner, hosted jointly by AWA Alexander Watson Associates and Mondi Group.

Established in 2016, the AWA Leadership Award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the release liner industry. The award celebrates leadership, dedication, service, and innovation, acknowledging those who have helped drive the industry’s development and long-term success.

Presenting the award, Corey M. Reardon, President & CEO of AWA, extended his congratulations: “We are very proud at AWA and honored to shepherd this award, recognizing outstanding contributions to the release liner industry, and presenting this acknowledgement to such well deserving recipients. This year’s AWA Release Liner Industry Leadership Award is given to Jurgen Van der Donck.”

Reardon added: “Jurgen has played a meaningful and influential role in shaping the release liner industry through leadership positions both within his organization and across the broader value chain. With Innovation & Sustainability as this year’s summit theme, it is especially fitting to recognize someone who has championed innovation for decades and has been a strong advocate of critical sustainability initiatives.”

He is a true gentleman, an inspirational leader, and a collaborative and fair business partner, always ready to help and work with colleagues and partners across the industry value chain.” In closing, Corey M. Reardon stated, “Through his various leadership roles over the years, Jurgen’s outstanding contribution to the release liner industry and its value chain has helped, in part, make the industry what it is today and will be tomorrow.”
